it's somethign you put your toast into when it's done, to carry it to the table. It also, because it holds the toast vertically with plenty of space around it, allows the steam within the toast (that has been caused by the moisture within the bread boiling) to escape, making your toast a lot crispier than if you just put it straight onto a plate (where the steam within the bread that's trapped underneith the toast will not escape and will make the bottom of the toast slightly soggy) :-)

I'm pretty sure the seller is a typical idiot hick who can't be arsed to learn the difference. The item in the auction is a toast rack.
